The University of Utah has established a collaborative partnership with multiple universities in the U.S., designating itself as a premier study site for visits. This strategic alliance brings together the research expertise of all institutions, fostering a dedicated environment for the investigation and understanding of CADASIL. Through joint efforts, The University of Utah and the entire Consortium of sites aim to advance knowledge and contribute to the broader scientific community’s understanding of this rare and complex condition.

Jennifer Majersik

Position title: Site Principal Investigator

Dr. Majersik is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. After receiving her B.S. in Physics from Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA), she served in the Air Force as a Scientific Analyst at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base National Air Intelligence Center. In 1997, she attended medical school at University of Vermont (Burlington, VT) where she fell in love with the neurosciences. She completed internship and neurology residency at the University of Utah and then decided to seek additional expertise in stroke by completing a vascular neurology fellowship at University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI). While at Michigan, she earned a master’s degree in clinical research design and biostatistics through their School of Public Health.

Kinga Aitken

Position title: Clinical Research Coordinator

Kinga is a Clinical Research Manager at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Department of Neurology. She completed formal medical training in Cluj Napoca, Romania as well as Public Health training at University of Utah. She has been working at the Stroke Center since early 2014, and is currently managing the Utah branch of the NIH Stroke Trials Network (StrokeNet) along with local research efforts, with a strong emphasis on operations. In addition, she is Co-Chair for the NIH StrokeNet CRP Training and Education Core. In her spare time, she enjoys building Lego with her little boy, Konrad.

Kelsey Dalton

Kelsey is a Clinical Research Study Coordinator at the University Of Utah School Of Medicine, Department of Neurology. She is trained as a nurse with vast experience working with insurance companies. In 2021 she decided that research fits in with her career goals and joined the Stroke Center Research Team. In her spare time, she enjoys clogging and contemporary dancing.
